Member Profiled as NYT 'One in 8 Million'
Congratulations to NYSSCPA member Henry Reininger, who today was profiled in the New York Times as the "All-Night Accountant" in the newspaper's "One in 8 Million" slideshow series, an honor which included an intro, link and photo on the newspaper's online front page.
The 72-year-old retired CPA still caters to clients in the wee hours at his East Village office -- "If I get out of here at four o'clock in the morning, I'm doing good," he says -- and has a frank discussion with the Times about his passion (being a trusted adviser) and his faith.
Reininger joined the Society in October 1964 and has worked as an accountant for more than 40 years. Ultimately he wants to "come across as a person that's knowledgable, that can do their work. [Clients] can talk to me like a brother; a father; like a good friend ... an adviser."
