Update: Daily News: Paterson Won't Run
[Updated, 3:43 p.m. The New York Times is reporting that Gov. David A. Paterson has officially dropped out of the 2010 race for New York state governor.]
After repeated statements to the contrary, it seems that embattled Gov. David A. Paterson will not be seeking a full term as governor of New York in the next election.
The Daily News is reporting that he will withdraw from the race today, citing an unnamed source. Paterson is expected to make a formal announcement later today.
As of late, he has come under fire for allegedly contacting a woman who accused one of his top aides of domestic violence, the Daily News article noted. That story was originally reported in the New York Times.
The unnamed source told the Daily News that Paterson will not resign.
According though to Governor Paterson 2010.com, the governor's campaign Web site, there's no sign of trouble and contributions are still being accepted.
