John Cudmore, senior VP for finance at Madison Square Garden, talks accounting careers with a group of college students. If it was a movie, they could call it "Return of the CFO."

Pictured here is John Cudmore, a CPA featured in November's student issue of The Trusted Professional for his work with some of the sports world's most well-known teams, including the Knicks and the Rangers.

Last month, he came to the NYSSCPA's headquarters in midtown Manhattan to help a group of college students from Rochester get excited about the prospect of a career in accounting.

The students, who vary in age but all attend Nazareth College, also got a chance to hear from Society members who covered the basics of becoming a CPA and some specialties, including forensic accounting. They also were educated on the state's new accountancy reform law and its impact on students entering the field.
